Catholic Education

St. Mary’s School

St. Mary’s School has been providing Catholic education in Owatonna for 145 years. Over that time many things have changed, but one thing has remained constant — outstanding teachers providing a nurturing yet academically challenging environment for our students. Our current mission statement reads:

Partnering with families
To develop a student’s full potential
In Mind, Body, and Spirit
Through Catholic values.

We truly believe that our role is to partner with parents to ensure that our students reach their full potential. Most importantly, our commitment to developing the mind, body and spirit of each student through the teachings of Jesus Christ is paramount in the hearts and minds of our teachers. Faith Formation

Religious Education Program/ Catholic Youth of Owatonna is the program for our faith formation and youth ministry programs that serve both Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s Parishes in Owatonna.

Our goal is to form our youth in the faith and help them to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and their understanding of the Catholic faith. We have Religious Education Programs for grades 1-10 for our Catholic youth who attend public schools. We also have a variety of Youth Ministry opportunities for youth in grades 6-12 that take place during the school year and summer.

We share offices with St. Mary’s School. Registration for our classes takes place in the spring and early summer. All classes begin in mid-September. We welcome volunteers for our ministry and will train you to help as a catechist, aide, office helper, or volunteer youth worker.

The REP Director is Brittany Boubin. Contact her at 507-413-6544 or email shsjyouth@shsjfaithformation.org.
